This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are a diverse group from a variety of culture, social and socioeconomic backgrounds. At our school, diversity is celebrated and embraced. Our students are supportive of one another and want to experience the world through all aspects.
They are amazing learners and work hard to experience the success that they achieve.
As a school, we want to help our students continue this success through new learning experiences to make them excited to come to school and find out more.
My Project
These materials are used in my physics classroom. As an introductory course to physics, students need to visually see real life examples of simple machines to understand how force is transferred and less work is being done. The weights will supplement this understanding as well as contribute to other physics lessons regarding energy, Newton's Laws, and Friction.
It is necessary to have adequate supplies for STEM education to develop understanding in all students.
This project will allow me, as a teacher, to help my students visually see physics, rather than it simply being stuff a piece of paper. It is my hope that students will utilize these ideas in future science classes to help with their understanding of the natural world.
