My students need kid friendly, appropriate, accessible furniture! With ever changing trends in early childhood education, our classroom needs have evolved many times, including the need for more child sized tables, shelves, and seating!
The students of KGK are diverse and unique. I have students from all socioeconomic backgrounds, some that are ELL and many that receive free or reduced lunch. Despite differences, we work hard from day one to build a classroom community, support one another, celebrate success and face challenges head on. We vow to always "do our best" in Kindergarten, and remember that everyone makes mistakes, even grown ups.
Our students are "Superhero Students" remembering that respect helps them soar!
As a Colene Hoose Hawk our students practice healthy habits, being respectful, kindness and making safety a priority. Students are recognized for modeling and practicing positive behaviors and building good citizenship! We truly are growing, changing and molding the future leaders of our community!
We'd love child sized furniture to reach our learning games, books, and other materials! Currently in my classroom we have bulky, adult sized, office shelves, tables, and easels that can take up a lot of our classroom space and make it hard for little bodies to move and reach classroom materials independently. Shelves that are low to the ground help my students be independent! They also double as bench seating easy for little bodies to sit upon safely! And, child sized tables that don't take up a lot of space allow us plenty of room to move our active, learning bodies! Child sized furniture will make our room inviting to early learners, give us more space to be active and move about, provide more designated spaces for specific learning activities and centers, and help our early learners be more productive and efficient!
