This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from a high poverty area. Every day I see that these are very determined and intelligent students.

As a new teacher, I am still adding to my classroom.My students are better able to learn when they have visuals, especially in math.

I have attended a math training that taught me how to better teach fractions but I am in need of some math manipulatives to accomplish this. I think this would help my students understand the concepts such as fractions.

My Project

Novel studies make a huge difference in my student's academics. They are always ready and willing to start a new book. By adding this book to our novel study, it will open them into another world where they can get lost in the book. We read the first book that we borrowed from the library but our library does not have the second book in the series. My students would be ecstatic if we were able to get the second book to do another novel study.

My students love to get lost in a world of books!

Even my students who are typically lower readers become engaged in our novel studies and their tests show the progress.
