They're quirky and entertaining, and some of the hardest working students in our school. They are not only involved in their own extra-curricular activities like sports and clubs, but they also give their personal time to come back to the school for other students' activities and take photos. In a small but very active school, our yearbook staff stays busy to say the least.
If there is more than one activity going on at a time it's extremely difficult to capture everything with the one existing camera that we have. Students use their phones, but often the photos don't turn out to be print quality.
Yearbook is a yearlong class and currently, we only have one camera to document all the wonderful accomplishments of all the students in our school throughout the year.
I would like to get one more digital camera into the hands of students to give them more ownership over the images.
With multiple activities taking place at our school on any given day, it is hard to capture everything with just one camera. Yearbook needs to come from the students perspective; the moments that are chosen to memorialize should have meaning to the students.
This camera will help students have more input and power over what is commemorated in their yearbook, and it will help students to get a better overall representation in the yearbook.
