We are in a community with low or little income. Our school operates on minimal supplies, most of which are purchased out of the teachers' own pockets. We have one computer lab that is utilized by twelve different classes in 2.5 days. We have very little time to meet the technological needs of our students. This increases the gap, of which, our students fall short.
Everyone has a passion.
Only some are able to research and develop that passion. My fifth grade classroom is full of enthusiastic students, ready to learn and participate in their "school lives." My wish for my students is to have the necessary tools to learn, grow and understand in this world we live in.
My Project
We are asking for more technology because we want to work at becoming a 1:1 classroom. Technology is used in every part of our lives, our students should have that technology available to them so they are well versed in it.
This technology will help close the gap for students in their learning.
We are sharing five computers daily and it would be so helpful to research for writing, enhance math skills, skype with authors so that we can have a better understanding of the tools that will be available to us.
Technology is the way of our world and we would like to participate!
