My classroom is made up of 18 eager Pre-K students, Ten are general ed, students and 8 are pre-k students with disabilities. Our school serves students in poverty. As a Title l school, we are used to going without, yet our students still have the same needs as others, if not greater needs. My students come from families that cannot provide any of the supplies needed for our school, so we often make due with what we have. This means that we are unable to purchase the things that would better assist my students who have severe learning needs, Despite this, we have passionate learners and teachers who are dedicated to providing the best education possible to our students.
It is important to incorporate ways to make learning fun, engaging and interactive. There are many iPad apps that are offered at a low cost or free that help students in mathematics, reading and fine motor skills.
Pre-K students learn best through play and experiences.
By using iPads, students will not only be learning, they will build independence, high self esteem when they accomplish a task, and so much more! It can also help English Language Learners increase language acquisition and understanding by using digital books and interactive stories. There are many tools, apps, games and programs that can help all students prepare to think critically. It would be awesome to incorporate these great ideas in the classroom with the requested iPad.
