Help me give my students new carpet tiles that will cover our entire library space. It will replace the original carpeting from the 90's and give our library a bright, clean and contemporary look!

My 650+ students live and study in the Hermosa neighborhood, whose Spanish translation is "beautiful." It's a working-class neighborhood on the northwest side of our city.
I'm lucky enough to be their librarian, meaning I know each and every student in our school.
Our community has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, which makes the inequities my students face even greater. My students typically have very little in terms of possessions, yet they deserve so much.
Our school library is a welcoming place. It's typically the first place my principal brings visitors because it is bright, modern, and displays the critical role that literacy plays within our school community. I'm incredibly proud of the space that I've built because of generous donors like you! We have modern furniture, technology, and newer shelving to accommodate our ever-growing collection of over 14,000 books. My students have been back in school since September and eagerly visiting and enjoying our lovely library space.
My heart bursts thinking of the joy my students would experience entering a library with bright, new carpeting.
While I know this is something that the district should be providing, the district's priorities and mine do not always align. Despite a huge influx of money from the federal government, our school budget was slashed by over $800,000 and we lost several positions. It's not just and it doesn't make sense.
Nevertheless, my students deserve resources that the district won't provide! Our library is used for everything. Staff meetings! Literacy nights! Community meetings! And, most importantly, it's a space in which 680 or so students learn information literacy and reading skills each week.
Due to this heavy usage, the carpet (which is the original carpeting from the 90's) has many stains and has a huge slit going across that's a tripping hazard. Carpet tiles will add so much life to our library. They come in bright colors and given that they are 24" x 24" squares, they can easily be swapped out if a stain gets on them. Students will also be much more inclined to want to read on our rug if it's clean and modern. We truly appreciate your support!
