Help me give my students a document camera to look at models, book totes to carry their materials to centers, and privacy partitions to be used during assessments.

My students are mathematicians; they just don't know it yet! The majority of my students enter the third grade classroom a bit hesitant to tackle math problems. This fear stems from students missing many of the prerequisite skills they need. 80% of the students in our elementary school qualify for free lunch, and most come to school without a pencil or folder (unless it has been provided by the school). I will not allow limited resources to hinder the learning of my scholars.
The goal of our classroom is to develop mathematicians who are excited to problem solve!
With your help, we can create a classroom that feels inviting, allows all students to feel safe to ask questions, and creatively encourages students to think critically.
Students in this classroom quickly learn:
Hard Work + A Positive Attitude = FUN Math!
Many of the school-provided supplies given to my students have been used for many years. While resources may be worn or broken by previous students, my scholars continue to come to school and use the tools they're given to learn. They work hard every day, no matter what resources have or have not been provided.
By donating to this project, you will help me give my students the environment they deserve to learn in!
A classroom's physical environment significantly impacts student morale and their motivation to learn. I believe it is important for my students to enter their new classroom with new supplies that make them feel empowered.
We will use the document camera every day in our classroom to look at sample problems, student work, and various models. This will be a great way for students to watch each other's strategies or give each other feedback on their work. A large part of our math class is spent working in centers around the classroom, in which students work on different math activities in small groups. Students carry their folders, notebooks (with lots of math calculations), place value charts, and base-ten blocks to use whenever they need these tools. They learn to take responsibility for all of their materials. We will use privacy partitions for students to stay focused when they are taking assessments.
I want my students to know their education is valued, and they deserve new supplies that will make them excited about learning when they come to school!
