The Magic Of Rocks, Minerals And Crystals!

My students need four classroom collections of rocks and minerals and eight crystal growing kits.

I teach science to K-8th grade students in a school where over 95% of my students are minority and 96% are economically disadvantaged. Although they are financially disadvantaged they inspire me with their never ending love of learning.

Several of my students brought in a few rocks that they found and wanted to learn more about them. Then several other students decided to bring me rocks that they found. Our classroom soon had a collection of similar types of rocks. My students wanted to learn more about rocks, minerals and crystals, and so we are in dire need of these supplies. Their interest in this subject is amazing.

We need rock and mineral class sets for my classes to observe, read and write about. We need to grow crystals to inspire my students with hands on involvement of the sciences.

By funding this project you will help impact my students in learning about earth science and the structure and formation of the earth. Observing rocks and growing crystals will be the catalyst in hooking my students in wanting to read and learn more. You can't imagine what a difference you will make in bringing the excitement of learning alive.
