Our students come to school ready to work. They give full-out effort every day. I am passionate and dedicated to finding ways to keep these students engaged and challenged during math. 100% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Their families are the highest poverty. Even though these students have many disadvantages, they want to learn and to be their best.
We want these children to have all of the advantages for learning that they can possibly have so they can be successful in school.
My Project
The Magnetic Base 10 set will help my students understand the place value system. They will be able to work at the easel as partners and use the Base 10 set to move around the ones and the tens as they practice adding and subtracting.
The students will use the Fraction Number Lines to practice working with fractions, which can be a tricky concept.
Even though the students are careful with the dry erase markers, they get used all day long and so they run out. We are in need of more dry erase markers, as they are a consumable resource!
