In my class, it is all about what my students can do, not what they can't. All of my students have disabilities but that does not stop them from being great, productive students. We take complex tasks and break them down as a team. Writing a whole paragraph about cells? Not a problem. I will start the sentence and the students finish them or point to a picture that finishes the sentence. Any student can finish the task if we just adjust the starting point.
Idaho is ranked 51st in the country for spending per pupil.
Which means that classrooms in Idaho do not get extra money for technology or interactive lessons. My district also does not allow asking the students to buy materials to be shared by the class such as tissues or crayons. Which means I have to make every penny count in my class.
My Project
Many of my students have been practicing the same math concepts for years. They have done hundreds of addition worksheets and by the time they are in middle school it is getting boring. These three math games will help my students see the fun in math class again.
These games will turn a boring math worksheet on addition into an exciting game of creating potions and conquering dragons.
My students love to play math games on their tablets. They stay focused and engaged in a way they never do for worksheets. Please help me bring some more fun into math class.
