This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am requesting a collection of Jan Brett read-alouds! Jan Brett is a phenomenal author who has written a plethora of children's books! They are all so wonderful and fun to read and my kids love them! We use them primarily for comparing/contrasting her books as well as retelling them. These books are simply perfect for those two standards. My students love to hear me read to them and I love to share my favorite authors. I love to read aloud to them and if I don't have a copy of the book I will show it to them on the Promethean.

But there is a big difference between a virtual read-aloud and an in-person read-aloud with a physical book.

When I use a physical book, I can stop throughout and ask higher-level questions My students may also borrow the book later if they would like to read it again for fun! Help us by providing these awesome Jan Brett books!
