My Students

Our school is a Title 1 school, meaning most of our kids come from homes that don't have much in the way of money. These kids are not gifted with the latest and greatest in anything.

My students are the best kids in the world who come from the toughest home situations.

My students are smart, funny, and kind while also being vulnerable and anxious. My students work hard every day to succeed and create lives that are better in the future than they have right now.

When you support my students, you are encouraging kids not only to grow as people, but to grow in respect for the community they live in, and the kind of people they want to be eventually. We are always so grateful for any kind of donation, and specifically, to DonorsChoose for blessing us with these opportunities.

My Project

With less and less funding available for school capital, classroom books are not high on the list to purchase. BUT without high interests texts readily available, getting kids to put down their phones and read is increasingly difficult.

These books will interest, excite, and motivate my students to depths of reading they have only begun to imagine.

The authors here write about real life, or fantasy, or science fiction - all the most popular choices amongst my kids.

Without new books, readers stagnate. We can't afford that in our community, in our country, in our world. By helping us provide libraries for these kids, you take steps to change the greater Earth.
