My Students

I have a great group of students this year. They are enthusiastic. They work hard and are very sweet and caring!

They enjoy hands on lessons which involve working together, making things and thinking about how to solve problems.

It's fun to get into different materials and tools and learn new skills and strategies from each other.

I have English language learners. Most of my students can actually speak two or more languages fluently!

My second graders love to get up and move. We've incorporated flexible seating allowing students to work in the space they choose and work most efficiently.

My Project

Art is one of those subjects that gets cut either by the struggle of finding the time, inexperience or intimidation of teaching it, or by lack of financial funds. Unfortunately our school does not have room in the budget to fund an art program. Fortunately, there are so many ideas available to pull some lessons together. All that is needed are the materials!

Art makes such a positive impact on a student's school experience.

It is a chance to be creative, experiment with colors, skills, techniques and styles. It gives the mind a break and allows a child to be imaginative.
