This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of students who are growing up in the tumultuous climate that is plaguing Baltimore and many other areas in this country. Even with all of the stresses that they face, they are still eager to learn and love school. The troubles of the world around them have not discouraged their young minds.

With all they will learn about the world, my students need the right resources to help them to continue to love of learning and desire to change the world.

My Project

The read-along library set features classic stories that students will enjoy reading on their own or with a friend. This kit will allow students to follow along as exciting narrators bring the stories to life. The students have began to lose interest in using the classroom library because many of the books are worn from constant use. A fresh set of books and CDs for listening will help reignite my students enjoyment for the class library.

The love for reading starts at an early age, so I want to give my students countless opportunies to engage with quality literature.

At the beginning of the year, the kids really wanted to go to the classroom library, but their interest has decreased. Giving our classroom library a facelift with quality new materials will hook them on reading once again.
