Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a first year teacher, I am adjusting to the life in first grade; everything from organizing my classroom to ensuring that my students are receiving the best education I can give them. Most of my students are English Language Learners from South Los Angeles.
My classroom is filled with 26 enthusiastic learners who are always so excited to learn.
It is my duty as an educator to create opportunities and equip students with the tools and resources to be successful in all their endeavors.
My Project
Since students spend so much time in the classroom, the way it looks, feel, and function has a huge impact on how comfortable students are in the classroom and how much they learn. The caddies I ordered will be placed at each table, which will act as the community supply. Inside the caddies will be the clear plastic boxes with markers and crayons.
By having the materials easily accessible to students, more time will be focused on learning rather than gathering materials.
The tape will be used to color code each table's materials so that they stay in the right spot. Organizing the materials in way that makes sense to students will help them gain organizational skills, which is essential to success.
