This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. These students have a desire to learn a skill that will be with be with them for a lifetime. My students are eager and curious and are always looking for something cool to do.

My Project

The sewing machines will help the students learn a crafty skill that will last a lifetime. The students will learn basic sewing skills and understanding the sewing machine. This skill will teach them fashion, alteration and crafts. The students will be able read patterns, measure and create ideas. The students will be able to understand sewing terms, sewing dictionary and types of fabric.

This class will give the students the opportunity to use their creative minds to design their projects and execute the project in a timely manner.

This class will help the students with reading,reading comprehension, math and problem solving.
