Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students have begun rehearsing for their production of Disney’s The Lion King, Jr.
Our mission is to inspire students to realize their full potential through the arts and academics.
We are committed to developing and delivering the highest standard of performing arts education, while also embracing a balance between the students' creative potential and their academic strengths.
These students are beyond excited to be able to perform this musical. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the musical has been postponed for over two years. For our eighth grade students, that means they began rehearsing The Lion King, Jr. in the sixth grade!
Our students are the most passionate, hardworking, and dedicated kids around. It is our hope that we can give them the musical experience that they deserve- one that has been put off for 2 whole years!
My Project
Unfortunately, our school does not have the budget to support everything needed for the musical. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the continuing supply chain issues, the cost of building materials has skyrocketed. Our hope is to build pinnacle set pieces for The Lion King, Jr. such as Pride Rock.
Our students will have the opportunity to help build and assemble set pieces, and will have the chance to be a part of the stage crew.
They will learn so much about stage design and carpentry! For the actors on stage, set pieces will make this an unforgettable experience.
With your help, our students will have access to beautiful set pieces that will be used for this musical, and repurposed for future shows as well!
