The Life Cycle of a Butterfly Up Close and Personal
My students need supplies for our upcoming Insect Unit. We are would like to observe the life cycle of a butterfly firsthand with these Painted Lady Butterfly Culture Sets!
I have a dynamic group of second graders this year! There are 24 diverse students who bring different languages, cultures, and customs to our classroom!
They are eager to learn new things and love school!
We are a 21st Century Classroom and are learning how to type, publish using Word, Publisher, and Powerpoint. We have a technology center in our classroom where students are building their technology schema.
Our school is a public school with a semi-traditional model. We wear uniforms, focus on direct instruction, with small group instruction flexibility.
My Project
Our class is currently studying life cycles in Science. We will be learning about the life cycles of plants and animals, then transition into our Insect Unit for 4th quarter.
The perfect transition into our Insect Unit is to observe the Life Cycle of a Butterfly right here in our classroom!
These Painted Lady Butterfly cultures come to our classroom as caterpillars. Each student will get their own caterpillar to observe and document in their Butterfly Notebooks. We will see the life cycle in action and be able to set our Painted Ladies free at the end of the unit!
