Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a library assistant in this school, I am trying to help the children here learn how to be more respectful and kind citizens as they grow, through listening and discussing stories written for children to learn from.

Our students are learning leadership skills that will help them as they grow to become productive citizens of this city.

We want these students to learn how to become a more well rounded individual in terms of how to express themselves, showing empathy, kindness to others- all areas of leadership along with learning writing, reading and math.

My Project

As a staff at our school, we are doing a book study called The Leader In Me. We are adopting the strategies in this book and will be teaching the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to the children of our school.

I would like to have a "book of the month" starting in the 2018-19 school year where each classroom will receive a book concentrating on a leadership quality such as the two I have picked out.

The teacher will be able to use this book for mini lessons for that month. These two books I have picked out will help teach about how working together is better and overcoming our fear by putting first things first.
