My students need 17 Math and ELA materials, including 6 different bingo games, math flash cards, self-checking math problems, a Place Value Practice Board, Operations Story Problem Flip Book and a Classifying Words Card Library.
My students have come from different countries around the world to receive an education in the United States. 60% of my students speak English as their second language. I teach Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies to 4th-grade students.
The students in my class are in the process of learning English. Since they struggle with language, they learn the most when they have hands-on materials. As a new teacher, I have a limited amount of resources in my classroom.
The materials I requested are for English Language Arts and Math. They are hands-on materials. Many of the materials are designed for lower grades, but my students need them since they haven't mastered all of the skills from 2nd and 3rd grade. Most of the activities can be used independently or in small groups. I plan on using these materials in learning centers around the classroom.
Most of my students have faced very difficult obstacles in their lives. Moving to a new country, adjusting to a new way of life, and learning a new language are just a few of their obstacles. My students are eager to learn and appreciate the opportunity to live in the United States. Your help will really make a difference to my students. With your donation, I will be able to give each child the tools they need to learn important skills. Please help me to prepare these children for a life that was not possible for them in their native country. Thank you for your help and support.
