Help me give my students the experience of learning to play the keyboard! It is so important to expose students to lots of ways of learning with a chance to play hands on.

My students continue to ask for MORE opportunities! We are a neighborhood school in a small urban community. Many students don't have access to music lessons outside of school. I try to expose them to as much as I can each year so that they will be ready for middle school music and have a lifelong love of music!
Over the past couple of years, students have been asking when they can learn how to play the piano.
This gave me the idea to start making piano a part of my curriculum.
In order for that to happen, I will need a classroom set of keyboards so that I can teach group lessons. We already learn recorder, drumming, and guitars, but keyboards would really open up some new doors for my students. We have 6 now, and need more so that each student can sit at a keyboard during class.
This project will benefit all of the students at my school over time and for years to come!
General music is a broad class to allow students to explore all different sides of music, including, singing, dancing, playing instruments, listening, composing, and analyzing music. My students are exposed to recorders, drums, classroom percussion, and guitars during their K-5 experience. But several have been asking for keyboard lessons and cannot afford private instruction. My goals is to create a group keyboard curriculum so that my students can have a taste of the possibilities with that instrument!
"Why can't we play the piano?" is a question I get all the time.
My hope is that soon I can say: "You can!"
Some parents and donors have already begun to donate money towards this goal. Over time I will need approximately 18 keyboards, but we are happy to start with what we can!
