Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a small rural town. Many students are ESL and require modifications with special attention to reading and understanding. Not only do my ESL students need modifications, a lot of students reading below grade level require those same practices.
Reading is a huge focus for our school, especially in the third grade.
The students have an abundance of testing to do and need extra tools to be successful. Every student has a need to fulfill, I want to be able to give them the opportunities to feel confident in succeeding.
My Project
Our students are asked to do a lot in the third grade. Unfortunately, many students are not confident in their penmanship and often do not explain in detail to avoid writing.
Since our present and future revolves around technology, my goal is to help students learn the importance of typing and details.
I would love to give the students the opportunity for success in writing skills. We would like to have a wireless keyboard and mouse to be interactive in our whole group lessons. Students would be able to type their responses to the Smartboard confidently from the comfort of their personal space. Students will also gain the skills needed for typing! Students would be able to see other students' responses and read them clearly without the concern of handwriting.
