The Jurascheck Adventure...It's a Walk in the Park
Help me give my students a real life Learning Adventure by giving them a Jurassic Park experience and supplying them with the appropriate uniforms and props to make their learning something they will never forget.
My students are extremely inquisitive, creative, and always ready to experience something new and exciting. They love to be hands-on, but if they can be hands-on AND FEEL the experience in an activity, then they will definitely master the skill because they have a clear visualization of what they did to get to that point and master that skill. It's so rewarding to me, as their teacher, to see that big smile of confidence when they say, "Mrs. Jurascheck, I got it!!"
Our students and the relationships we build with each and every one of them are the most important key aspect we keep in mind when it comes to our school.
Some of our students are from lower-socioeconomic families where they can't provide the allotted time their child needs for their education. That's why that relationship you build with your students enable you to know and understand each students' personal situation and gives you an insight of how they work. That's why that morning conversation is so important!
My Project
Help me provide my students this year with a realistic "Learning Adventure" that they'll never forget. My name is Mrs. Jurascheck and I want to welcome you to "Jurascheck Park!" My goal is for my students to relate their education to real life experiences. I feel that this is the key to success because they're learning and having fun at the same time. Therefore, I would like to transform my room into "Jurassic Park" theme.
We would all have our roles and responsibilities that we are accountable for.
I would use back drops to set the scene, greenery to get more of a jungle feeling, dinosaur footprints to remind us of the creatures among us, and of course, dinosaur cardboard stand ups to assist in visualizing the true "Jurascheck Experience!" My students will have a uniform they must wear everyday to remind them of their role. It will consist of a camouflage safari vest with a Jurassic Park Park Ranger patch. This is the beginning of their internship. As for myself, I am the Professor/Director of this facility and my uniform consist of a safari vest with Jurassic Park and a dinosaur patch.
As we all go through this journey together and our "Learning Adventure" comes to an end, The Florida Safari Attraction Headquarters (FSA) shall award all interns with their certification to be a Licensed Dinosaur Expert! (Passing the FSA)
