My Students

Hello, My name is Amy Rogers. I teach 7th grade autistic children. First, of all there is never a dull moment in my class. Which is a good thing. My kids put a smile on my face everyday. They may have intellectual and social disabilities But once they get to know you...They are loving, funny, smart. They all have their own unique personalities. Some sniff your hair, if they like the smell of your shampoo. Others will want to know what is for lunch everyday. I may reiterate all day. But there is no other class I’d rather be in. If you knew my kids, students you’d feel the same way, guarantee.

My Project

The items I have put on my wishlist of donations will come in handy throughout the school day, such as Hot Dots for reading and listening skills. The tablets will be used as a learning tool, with such academics as math, reading, and science. They will also be used during occasional downtime. The kid-friendly cases will be a big help because it will be easier for them to maneuver the tablets. The headphones will be awesome assets because it will be less distracting to other students in the classroom. The sensory items will definitely be a plus, especially If they are irritable or upset about something, it will help them calm themselves down.
