This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class is a diverse group of 22 third graders from the Boston area. They are eager learners who are excited about coming to school each day; however, we are currently interacting through Google Classroom as our district has shifted to distance learning because of the Corona Virus Pandemic.
My Project
As teachers and students across the world adjust to our current circumstances, learning is still happening. The students are eager to complete posted assignments and meet with their teachers and classmates virtually. We are looking to do a traditional novel study for our next ELA project and are looking for some help in funding this! While the internet has opened up so many resources and websites for kids, nothing seems to take the place of having a book of your own in your hand to read. By donating to this project you will be funding a class set of books, one for each student. This will allow them to engage with a physical book and guide us in our literature circles and discussions about the book! Thank you for thinking of us and helping to support our eager students!
