My students need a listening center in conjunction with book and CD sets, my kindergarten students could engage in a listening center to reinforce listening skills.
I teach 22 students that I love to life every single day all by myself.
They are my world and in a lot of cases I am theirs. My students wiggle into our classroom every day full of life with a 110% energy ready to go. They are ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
I teach at a Title I school in FL where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. They are growing and learning in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspired me to be a teacher. They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners. They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even if they don't know it yet. They are budding ambassadors, world travelers, scientists, entrepreneurs, teachers... They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their long successful career.
My Project
Listening skills are an important part of communication skills. Children need to focus on learning listening skills, even more so at the elementary level. It has been said that listening has three parts to it: hearing the speaker, understanding what the speaker is saying, and making a judgment based on that understanding. With a listening center and several wonderful book and CD sets, I could broaden my classroom listening and technology center. Each book set has one CD and four books. It is a perfect setting for my classroom listening center. It is important for our students to become active listeners at a young age. These resources would help me do that with my kindergarten class.
As an elementary teacher, I know that listening is important to a child's development.
You can help us by donating to this project so my kindergarten students can have a wonderful listening center and book CD sets.
