My Project
Freshmen students who are enrolled in 9th and honors comp/lit will use technology weekly to complete dialectical journals, DBQ papers and complete research on the holocaust.
While in my class, students will use technology to gather, evaluate and use information.
Students will conduct research, solve problems, and/or create original works. Students will also use technology to communicate and work collaboratively.
9th comp/lit - Along with weekly journal writing, students will receive background information on the Holocaust and read a selection of texts along with memoirs written by Holocaust survivors. Students will write a paper referred to as document based question (DBQ) titled - Holocaust Writing How Does One Say the Unspeakable? Written in google docs students will collaborate through peer editing, publishing their papers to share with their peers.
Honors comp/lit - Along with weekly journal writing, students will receive background information on the Holocaust and read a nonfiction text on the Holocaust. Students will choose their topic based on their interest, for example, the perspective/point of view of resistance fighters, a clergyman, soldiers, Hitler’s youth, or Jewish children who survived the holocaust. Student will formulate their own research question. After their effective research is complete, students will write a paper in google docs allowing students to collaborate through peer editing. Students will publish papers to share with their peers.
