I teach 25 second grade students in a large urban school district. . This is a neighborhood school with more than 90% of students receiving free lunch.Students at this school are eager to learn and be successful citizens. They love to read and write about a variety of subjects. They are awesome students regardless of their home challenges.
Five students in my class are being raised by their grandparents.
Many live in transient rental homes and apartments. They still persevere and come to school almost every day.
Students in our neighborhood school come ready to learn. However with out air, it is too hot to listen and stay awake. Students develop stomach and head aches as they try so hard to follow directions and work hard. We all sit with sweat rolling into our eyes and down our face.
The product I am asking for is a portable room air conditioner.
This addition to our classroom will help the students stay comfortable while at school and as they read and write at school. We have days and days of extreme heat in our classroom. Please consider helping us by donating to our project.
