Though labeled a Title-I school within a low-income community, MMA is an academic institution with scholars that possess unlimited potential. Despite the variety of challenges that our scholars face daily, they have an intense desire to grow, not only as learners, but overall as global leaders.
My scholars are bold, innovative leaders that dare to ask uncomfortable questions.
Scholars of MMA yearn to be exposed to information and experiences that teach them about the world that surrounds them. Beyond the acquisition of knowledge is their passion to utilize their understanding in order to make an impact on their global community. Given the opportunity, accompanied by adequate resources, I know that they will individually and collectively achieve great wonders.
"The Hate U Give," by Angie Thomas, is a high-interest and relevant novel with social concepts and controversies my students can relate to. My hope is to offer my students a chance to read an award-winning novel that they will enjoy as well as provide them with a safe space to express thoughts and opinions about common social justice issues.
Donating to this project will allow my students the opportunity to enhance their interest in reading as well as their global understanding and social competency.
Your generosity and contribution will make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of my students.
