Help me give my students an opportunity to create a community of kindness and service. The (TK) Kindness Project is to deliver a 'Drop of Kindness' book to each teacher (PK-5). Mr. Kubiak will lead a Kindness/Community Pep
The culture of kindness in my (TK) classroom enhances the connections for peer to peer friendships. Carving out time to intentionally promote kindness has cultivated empathy and understanding between individual students, leading to deeper relationships. As relationships form, trust develops, which allows a classroom culture of learning. Each student feels genuinely valued -- for who they are and what they contribute as a unique individual to the class. I believe that devoting ample time to nurturing the classroom/school culture through teaching kindness-- is exactly what allows my students to be successful in many different areas. The (TK) students would love to spread kindness to all the classrooms in the school with this Kindness Project. They will deliver a copy of 'One Drop of Kindness' to each classroom with a hand made bookmaker for their class. The TK students will have an opportunity to speak in front of each class and invite them to the "Kindness Pep Rally" on February 14!
My Project
We educate almost 800 students at our school-- from many diverse backgrounds, which we view as an asset and our schools' strength. We're committed to supporting and providing students with the necessary skills to be college and career ready. We focus on both academics and character development, so our students can be ready as productive citizens in the community and the world.
The advantage of working with a diverse group of children within a classroom community where kindness and compassion can flourish are many.
How do you overcome language barriers? How do you build trust among a group of highly diverse families — particularly in these uncertain times? What do you do in the classroom to help children recognize and respect one another's individuality? 'One Drop of Kindness' has a ripple effect. Students will learn how each person has the opportunity and responsibility to transform their own lives through hard work and KINDNESS. With the purchase of 'One Drop of Kindness,' by Mr. Jeff Kubiak for each classroom at our school, students will be able to read and meet an author, educator and motivational speaker to kick off the "Random Acts of Kindness" movement in our school and community.
