My students need a comfortable and inviting area when we gather in a whole group setting in order to build our classroom family. We need carpet.

My Students

My students are my classroom family. We learn and grow every day. I teach my students reading, writing, and math, along with kindness and compassion. As the year progresses, the classroom family bond grows stronger and stronger. The students enjoy helping each other, from getting ready for recess to coaching one another to make good choices. We begin our day by sharing our feelings. This allows other students and me to understand one another. It is our favorite!

My Project

This project will allow for students to define their personal space while learning. The tree allows for students to understand that we are unique, but we are better together. We start our day with a morning meeting. This project will provide a visual for our classroom family as we begin each day. We will discuss our learning at the carpet and the students will be proud to claim a “leaf” spot. The project also allows for vocabulary building. I incorporate themes throughout the school year. The tree carpet will not only provide a personal space visual, but an academic visual as well.
