My class is filled with unique personalities, strengths, and a variety of backgrounds. I have students who are extremely bright and are ready to be challenged. On the other hand, there are students who have only experienced a school setting for the first time, in my class. Because there is such a large spectrum of needs, it can be a challenge for me at times to meet all of their individual needs. My class this year has inspired me to do a better job of using outside resources to empower them to reach their full potential.
This class has done a fantastic job of challenging me to become a better educator.
We often times can get stuck in the monotony of our daily classroom routines and forget to embrace the love and joy of the learning progression. Getting to know some of the families that are attached to my students, I feel empathy toward some of the challenges my students are facing. They are just beginning their careers as students and are faced with socio-economic difficulties, instabilities at home, and a lack of exposure to the world around us. I am so thankful to be their teacher!
My Project
Let’s face it, who can resist a good book? In the very early stages of learning to read, engaging young readers in good content is critical in their future interest in reading. If they like what they’re reading, their success as a reader will grow exponentially.
Please help me give my students a selection of books they’ll not want to put down.
My goal is to expand our classroom library and give my students the opportunity to explore a variety of reading materials. Having access to multiple books will help my students foster a love for reading. Reading is the key to educational success. If they can read, they can do anything!
