My students need funding to offset the costs of a food summit trip to Italy.

My Students

My students are a combination of students from the Boston area. Our town is a area North of Boston, and is very economically diverse. We offered this trip to every student at the high school, however many could not afford it. We have been participating in numerous fundraisers to offset costs.

Many of our students are interested in pursuing careers in culinary arts and politics.

This project will allow them to apply skills in a real world setting.

My Project

We will be partnering with our sister school and taking students on a trip to Italy. We will be going to Rome, Sorrento and Florence and the trip will culminate with a two day Summit on The Future of Food. They Keynote Speakers are Anthony Bourdain and Raj Patel.

The trip will culminate with a 2 day conference in Turin, where students will work together in creating a solution for the impending food shortage that is being predicted for 2050.

Students will be apprised of the situation and challenged with creating a solution to the issue.
