Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are innovators who are learning not only by reading literature, reports, journals but by actually making and creating. They are currently preparing the garden for spring 2020, by cultivating the grounds now and composting and most importantly understanding what can and will be planted.
The students are getting prepared for the traditional ways of farming, and what I would like to introduce to the students is hydroponics.
I think that it would be a nice comparison and contrast to the understanding of farming and its future of farming.
My Project
Students will able to see first hand how other forms of farming are being utilized and understand the importance of farmland and their lack of space. These materials will provide a better understanding of hydroponics farming.
The grant, will help the students in their learning and a deeper understanding of the need for future farming.
Students also are learning about resources in Science in the classroom and it is vital that they not only learn how resources are utilized but also conserved.
As resources are being depleted in our country, I would like students to understand other forms of farming.
