Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school with a mosaic of diverse leaners in Los Angeles, California, with a little over 500 students. The kids learn more when physically and artistically active, and I do not want them to miss these activities due to the lack of materials. My goal is to create a well-rounded experience for our enthusiastic and tenacious little learners! I want the students to be eager to come to school each and every day, excited to learn!
My Project
Learn to Code File Folders Games - These ready-to-use folder games help kids master early coding skills! Children just follow the instructions to code a path from start to finish on 10 colorful, engaging folders—developing computational thinking and problem-solving skills along the way.
Spinning Tops - Children put STEM into action with our hands-on challenge kit!
This engaging kit includes challenge cards to prompt kids as they plan, create and test toy spinning tops. Children stack layers of disks to build the tops—and discover how balance and weight change the way the tops spin! Develops skills in exploring force and momentum, understanding weight and balance, and testing solutions.
