This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a low income households. I have heard several times how children in this school district are so behind other school districts. You always hear negative things. Let me tell you the positive things we never hear in the community. Most of my children show up every day. That is hard for them to do, but they truly want to be here and learn. They work hard on anything I give them. They are very eager to learn new things. I watch them give more of themselves every single day.
My students fight the odds because of all the hardships they face at home, they still show up and want to succeed.
I have never seen so many children have a love for learning as I do in my classes. They not only want themselves to be better, they want their classmates to be better as well. They are always willing to take the time to help each other.
My Project
My 3rd graders will have to pass the end of the year state testing in order to go on to the 4th grade. I want them to have all the resources to help them succeed. Because students learn in different ways, I want them to be able to use what they can in our classroom. Many learn more through the additional programs on the internet. The Chromebooks will be used daily to complete i-Ready and STEM activities. This is also helpful in the times we live in. It is important to be able to use computers because they are here and now. The future is geared towards technology. I do not want my children to fall further behind. I want them to succeed. I will also use the handwriting, vocabulary, and writing to build mt students writing skills. The Godery Magnetic desktop Chart will be used in both reading and math centers. This will give the children a chance to participate in every activity.
