My students are champions! They have been so flexible and have demonstrated wonderful perseverance through the COVID-19 pandemic and Remote Learning. My Remote Learning classroom teaching art consists of recorded demonstrations, real-time feedback, and virtual conferences with students.
As a public charter school, we receive one third to half the funding of traditional public schools in our state.
This creates a great inequity between our funding structure and those of neighboring schools in our geographic area. Therefore, we rely heavily on donations to support our expanding school. My Project
With the uncertainty of what "Back to School" looks like and the course of the school year, the document camera and the adjustable desk will be incredibly helpful as I return to school. Being able to make video lessons recording art demonstration as well as virtual lessons will be useful during and after the remote learning time.
Although one of the greatest challenge of distance learning is personal connections with students, being able to stand in front of the camera allows for greater energy and more of a real classroom experience.
The adjustable desk will ease the facilitation of these conferences. The option to stand while working will greatly help me physically while I am in front of my computer for 8-10 hours a day. Once we return to the classroom, this will be a tool that will continue to serve and assist me in the classroom.
