This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of ideas! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things. Our school focuses on STEAM education and this has impacted our students greatly. My class is moving towards a more hands on approach to learning to help fit the needs of my creative students! Being able to compete projects that are hands on will help my class to take their learning to new levels and we are so excited.
Our school services many students who live in temporary housing and 100% of the students receive free and reduced lunch.
Our students have such a thirst to learn and our school provides them with all the prior knowledge experiences they may need to succeed in life.
My Project
My students will be learning through project based lessons in the classroom. This hands on approach to learning will require a lot of group work (for example dissection of squids) so these tables will be just what we need!
Giving my students tables and flexible seating options will allow them to gain independence and will foster working in groups.
My students will be using their classroom as a science lab to explore real life situations like how animals and plants defend themselves. By having these tables and seats my students will be able to successfully work as a team to learn.
