My students want to know how to clean up the water resources in our coastal city. They are all gifted fifth graders who are designing their own science fair projects. I am one of three math and science teachers who support this grade of about 130 students. These young scientists want to learn about ecology and improve the environment.
Many of the students consider projects in ecology and marine habitats, but are discouraged by the cost of water testing kits. Making these materials readily available would encourage numerous projects with water pollution, water quality and the health of marine estuaries.
With the right materials, we can encourage and develop a new generation of scientists to help save our planet.
Your help will ensure that gifted young scientists have the materials they need to test their questions about clean water and its effect on our community and the world as a whole.
