My students need basic supplies like glue, model magic clay, composition books and markers to share out their learning with each other in a fun and meaningful way.
Our students have a lot of potential and energy. They learn by doing, manipulating their environments, and leading through doing. We are a project heavy group that has a variety of learning styles and abilities.
Our students are excited to be present and learning.
They practice leadership skills and small group delegation in every class and in many ways. They are all highly intelligent and are finding ways to shine. There are many students we work with that do not have the supplies and resources to prepare themselves for not just middle school but life after.
The adults supporting our wonderful students are coming from all walks of life and different grades taught. We have a lot of ideas and ways to engage but many supplies are lacking in our rooms and teaching spaces.
My Project
Our students are the leaders of tomorrow; they are learning vital leadership skills and interpersonal skills while growing their academic knowledge. There lessons and projects are not simply learning the basics but setting them up to help and teach others. We are melding our learning with fun activities and delegating learning to the student's shoulders so they can teach each other. We are trying to be more environmentally friendly by using whiteboards in all our classrooms and subjects. Sharpies and modeling clay help us express our thinking in visual and physical ways that are good for showing our growth. And glue, glue is necessary for setting up our notebooks and making meaningful resources for us to learn.
