Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We, the players of Ms. K's class, will work hard to be the best team. We will complete our work, meet our AR goals, and have a lot of fun. - Student created mission statement.
My 18 new first grade students are full of energy and love learning new things every day.
Most of them come from a low income home where school is a safe place to spend their days. Each student is given a free breakfast every morning as well as free lunch.
My Project
Each year our classroom elf comes to visit for a whole month. He likes to surprise the students with little gifts multiple times a week.
By donating to our project, you will be helping keep the students focused on their classwork during an exciting holiday season.
The elf begins by decorating the classroom and leaving stockings for each student. The elf will then be able to leave the students treats such as smencils, candy, snacks, wikkistiks, crafts, and ink stampers in their stocking. This excites the students as this is something they might not get at home. The elf will leave notes encouraging the students to be their best "elves".
We also need the book "Oh The Places You'll Go" to complete a class set to gift to the students for Christmas.
With these little gifts I will be able to provide the students with an exciting holiday season. They will not know what to expect next!
