My kindergarten kiddos are the most enthusiastic people you will ever meet. They are imaginative, curious, and just plain funny. The majority of my kindergarten kiddos are in dire need of social and motor skills. They each have diverse abilities, backgrounds, and experiences. Though their personalities are very different, they all share a love for learning as I do and their smiles can light up the darkest room! I wish everyone could see what I see when they meet my students.
I see strong, inquisitive children who have been through more than I have in my 30 years of living in just 5 or 6 short years.
I praise these children for their strength, positivity, and their overpowering love for learning.
My Project
My little kinders love creating art in many different forms whether it be play-doh, water colors, or just simply drawing. I would love for my students to be able to paint using an easel and tempera paint. For kindergartners, the use of tempera paint without an easel is very difficult and frustrating as it creates a huge mess as my students aren't able to hold the paper on the table while they paint and it leaves a large mess on our tables. Painting is very important for young children as it enhances motor skills, creativity, and academic learning. I would love for my students to be able to paint on an easel where they can spend more time creating art instead of worrying about the mess they are making.
According to KIDSU, painting helps children communicate their emotions or feelings as well as helps with hand-eye coordination, which is an important skill in their age.
The feeling of creating something that has no right or wrong is special and beneficial to a young child. The Stow and Go Art Easel is going to provide my students with the opportunity to independently and passionately create art that inspires themselves and every child in our classroom. My students will learn decision making skills as they plan ahead as they choose the colors of paint that they will need for their painting as well as it will provide an educational opportunity that is fun and exciting. I know my students will be ecstatic to paint using an art easel.
