I have been teaching for the past ten years and never have the children in my school system been offered visual arts at the elementary school level. Our school system is now developing a visual arts program within my school and I have been hired to build this program from the ground up. School is the best part of these children's day! They come to class each day with lots of enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. Providing these students with new stools and an artist inspired carpet will only boost the love of school that these sweet babies have already developed and encourage their creativity as they are introduced to the world of visual arts.
My Project
My students have never had the opportunity to engage in visual arts within my school system. When budget cuts had taken a tool on our economy, many programs were dissolved, including the art programs. Now that the economy is beginning to improve, I have been given the opportunity to develop the visual arts program within my school from the ground up. These stools and carpet will allow me to create an encouraging and comfortable space. With art stools and an artist inspired carpet, my students will be equipped with a classroom environment that can help spark their creativity and imaginations, as they embark on their journey to begin creating their own masterpieces!
