Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
From a school that didn't even have a yearbook, a group of students have come together to make a digital history of the school.
My students are trying to become the next broadcast journalist, both on and off the camera, in the future.
They started just telling the news, and now they are creating movies. We have sent students to several universities studying Journalism, and now we are entering into film making. Every part of the process is done by the students.
My Project
3 years ago, I started a school news program with just a Green Screen and a Dream, and we have done amazing things. We have begged and borrowed for everything we have.
Right now, my journalism students have two major issues: their interview segments look bad because of the old leather chairs they have to sit on, and they never truly look down the camera because they don't have a teleprompter.
I am hoping to fix both of these things. With the Teleprompter, my journalists will be able to hone their skills using the process used in real news stations. With the chairs, they will look more professional.
