This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school motto is "Our Future Begins Here." Shouldn't students have every advantage in order to succeed? My students need the opportunity to learn in the best environment possible.
I teach in a large, diverse K-8 school in a high poverty area in Philadelphia where all of the children are eligible for free lunch.
The children come to school eager to learn. They have various abilities, and I want all of my students to be the best they can be. In order to make that happen, I would like to provide them with the tools necessary to succeed.
My Project
My students need 3 pocket folders in order to store materials that need to go home. There are times when a great deal of information goes home. I would like to separate these materials into sections: Homework, Notes Home, and Notes To Return To the Teacher. As a result, this project will help to keep the folders neat and my students organized. In order to have a productive classroom, my students and I came up with a list of responsibilities. We would use the classroom management pocket chart to keep track of who is making our classroom a positive environment in which to work.
Students need to understand the importance of being organized and to be responsible for their own materials and behavior.
Please help me, help them become all that they can be. Their future continues here.
