My Students

A typical day in my classroom consists of me teaching a group of students who are generally working on a variety of objectives. The use of the ipad will be to provide practice help from direct instruction. The ipad also serves as a huge incentive for many students to work harder.

The students that I service at my school tend to be students who want to please their teachers.

They are hard workers; albeit easily frustrated and benefit greatly from use of a variety of instructional strategies. The school environment is one that fosters community so that I work closely with the primary special education teacher and work with students who benefit from Response to Intervention services.

My Project

Students will use this material to practice skills that have been taught. They will also use this tool as an alternate mode of instruction (ipads and electronics are extremely motivating for students). I would ideally like to set up all my students so that they can track their own progress.

This project will make a difference because research shows that practice is the key to success and achievement of IEP goals.

In addition, research shows that children enjoy tracking their own progress and work harder to achieve their goals when they have a part in setting those goals. Using this type of tool will be very beneficial for my students.
