My Students

I have the privilege of teaching over 100 teenagers who surprise me on a daily basis with their commitment to learning, the depth of their thinking, and their desire to make something of themselves. The diversity of their backgrounds contributes to great discussions and allows us to learn about the many cultures that make up our community.

My students overcome obstacles in their lives on a daily basis, and I wouldn't teach anywhere else.

I love my job and want only the best for my students.

My Project

The legacy that Anne Frank left behind is like no other. Through her diary, she brought to us the hopes and dreams of a young girl trying to live her life through extreme adversity. The lessons that my students can learn from her diary are more relevant today now than ever.

A newly published graphic novel version of Anne Frank's diary is the perfect way to engage even the most struggling readers in my classroom.

The beautiful illustrations help bring her memories to life of the time that she lived in the Secret Annex. I started reading it and could not put it down, and I know the same will be true for my students. My lessons will include excerpts from Anne Frank's diary, non-fiction articles related to the Holocaust, inspirational poetry, documentaries, and important discussions about acceptance and tolerance.
