This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is a very active environment. Students are busy working on projects and there are many different stations or areas in the classroom.

I teach beginning and advanced students in an urban, lower income area in California.

My students are very intelligent and they tend to excel in classes like mine where they have a chance to express themselves creatively.

Our school is 60 years old and our students often do not have access to materials that other schools might have in more affluent areas. Our minority and English learner population is higher than most schools in the same county.

My Project

We have been working on some interesting carved design projects this year and I have come to realize that the carving tools in my classroom need a real upgrade. Xiem makes amazing, top-quality tools that can be used for many years to come.

This DonorsChoose request is a class set of 35 carving toolsets that the students can use for fine details and carving.

These tools will give my students a much-improved way to carve raised details, and edging details. These details are sure to make their projects stand out.
