Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are your typical sixth, seventh and eighth graders who love to explore and test out their ideas. They are eager to experience new ideas that relate to their life and then work with one another as a team. All of our students are quick learners.
Our students work hard to solve everyday problems and are encouraged to think critically and creatively.
They use their gifts to strengthen their work. They are always up for a challenge and work hard when the expectations are set high.
It is hard to image better students than the ones at my school. I am thrilled with the support our students get from our parents and community members.
My Project
Learning about money through a book is great but what if we actually held a mock radio show online via Zoom and invited expert guests to be call-in viewers. What equipment would we need? Having quality equipment like an Apple iPad Pro, pencil, earbuds are a must.
Students will be totally engaged online when they meet their expert finance person and reveal how they would solve their "financial issues" live on Zoom.
The new classroom is now online or at least blended. The tools are there and the time is now to pivot and bring students interactive and highly productive lessons. With your help this capstone project will help complete a 9+ week course using the Foundations in Personal Finance course written by the Dave Ramsey Solutions Group. This project will allow all students a chance to show what they know and be the star of the show even if Dave can't be in the classroom. Having experts come to our Zoom classroom will breath life and energy in what can be a very stale environment.
